What is cybersecurity?

To make it simple as possible Cyber Security can be imagined as door lock on a private house, the door lock is what keeps our house safe from unknown strangers. This Strangers that we are talking about are the thieves that are aiming to steal valuable things. Which could be personal information , including bank accounts, and passwords. Cyber security is like the locks that keeps people safe from black hat hackers.

What are Cyber-Threats?

Cyber Threats could fall into several categories as there are many variations of it, such examples are phishing sites, virus and malware, hacking , and also password attacks. Now how can you protect yourself from this kind of threats? One key Factor to avoid these kinds of situations is by having knowledge about these kinds of things. In today’s modern world knowledge is power. Knowledge is an advantage someone can have, and knowledge can be used to trick people who are uneducated and are not well literated.

Phishing

This is like a scam call or a fake letter. Someone sends you a fake email or message that looks real—maybe from your bank or a delivery service. But it's a trick to get your passwords or credit card info.

Example:

"Your package is delayed. Click here to reschedule." (But the link is fake and steals your data.)

Hacking

This is when someone breaks into your computer or account without permission—like a thief sneaking into your house through a window.

Password Attacks

If your password is weak (like "123456" or "password"), it’s easy for someone to guess it and get into your accounts.

In Simple Terms:

• Cybersecurity = digital safety
• Cyber threats = online scams, viruses, or hackers
• You protect yourself just like you would protect your home: with locks, alerts, and common sense
